Total Time: 35 minutes
Servings: 2
Ingredients
- • 2-3 fillets of any white fish (0.75 – 1lb total weight)
- • 1 tbsp butter or vegetable oil
- • 1/4 cup diced onions
- • 1 tsp mustard seeds (optional, but highly recommended)
- • 1 tsp ginger paste
- • 1 tsp garlic paste
- • 1 tbsp lemon juice
- • 1/8 tsp cayenne powder or red pepper flakes – add to taste(optional)
- • Salt to taste
Directions
- 1. In a bowl, mix the ginger, garlic, lemon juice, cayenne powder and salt. Coat evenly on the fish fillets and let it marinate in the fridge for 15-20 minutes.
- 2. Heat the butter or oil in a pan on medium heat for 2-3 minutes.
- 3. Add the mustard seeds and wait for them to start spluttering. Once they start to splutter, add onions and saute them for 2-3 minutes until they become translucent.
- 4. Place the fish over the onions and let it sear on one side for 2 minutes
- 5. Lower the heat to medium low and gently turn over the fillets.
- 6. Place a lid over the pan and let the fish cook on the other side for 6 minutes
- 7. Remove the lid and add a tsp of Souvei Raw Mango Chutney on top of each fillet. Add more if stronger flavors are desired.
- 8. Place the lid over the pan and let the fish cook for another 3-4 minutes or until the fish is flaky and fully cooked.
- 9. Serve immediately with a side salad of your choice or grilled garlic bread on the side. Enjoy!
