Cooking Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 35 minutes
Servings: 2

Ingredients

    • 2-3 fillets of any white fish (0.75 – 1lb total weight)
    • 1 tbsp butter or vegetable oil
    • 1/4 cup diced onions
    • 1 tsp mustard seeds (optional, but highly recommended)
    • 1 tsp ginger paste
    • 1 tsp garlic paste
    • 1 tbsp lemon juice
    • 1/8 tsp cayenne powder or red pepper flakes – add to taste(optional)
    • Salt to taste

Directions

    1. In a bowl, mix the ginger, garlic, lemon juice, cayenne powder and salt. Coat evenly on the fish fillets and let it marinate in the fridge for 15-20 minutes.
    2. Heat the butter or oil in a pan on medium heat for 2-3 minutes.
    3. Add the mustard seeds and wait for them to start spluttering. Once they start to splutter, add onions and saute them for 2-3 minutes until they become translucent.
    4. Place the fish over the onions and let it sear on one side for 2 minutes
    5. Lower the heat to medium low and gently turn over the fillets.
    6. Place a lid over the pan and let the fish cook on the other side for 6 minutes
    7. Remove the lid and add a tsp of Souvei Raw Mango Chutney on top of each fillet. Add more if stronger flavors are desired.
    8. Place the lid over the pan and let the fish cook for another 3-4 minutes or until the fish is flaky and fully cooked.
    9. Serve immediately with a side salad of your choice or grilled garlic bread on the side. Enjoy!
